Description
Fonds comprises photographs and documents from the Stinson family of St. Andrews, New Brunswick. Early documents relate to Henry W. Stinson, including his enlistment record in the United States military from 1898-1899 and his United States citizenship papers in 1903. The fonds also holds a mid-twentieth century flyer for March weekend specials at Stinson's Grocery, and letters of welcome and St. Andrews tourism brochures for the 2015 "Reunion-by-the-Sea."
A spiral bound scrapbook contains newspaper clippings from X to X, organized by subjects, which include obituaries of mostly St. Andrews-area residents; articles relating to members of the Stinson family; articles on Bill O'Neill; and articles on other family groups, including the Fishers, Lords, and Pendeltons. Many of the newspaper images have handwritten annotations identifying individuals.
Photographic materials consists of one cabinet card and carte-de-visite album, inscribed with the name Julia C. Stinson and the date 1895, containing 53 photographs, many named and dated, with the last names primarily Stinson and the dates ranging from 1891 - 1897; one ring binder album with photographs from the 80th birthday of "Aunt Mary" [probably Mary McAleenan, referred to elsewhere in the fonds as "Aunt Mary"], 54 photographs from the late 1980s or early 1990s; and nine loose photographs, including card-mounted studio portraits, postcards, and family snapshots.
